Caulk confusion

The installation manual calls for "DAP ALEX Plus Clear Silicone Caulk." All I can find is "DAP ALEX Plus Acrylic Latex Plus Silicone." Is that what you really meant to call out? I would hate to apply this and then find out I had to remove it because it didn't work.

You can use any good quality clear silicone caulk -- I prefer using an exterior window and door style like those available from any big box stores. Here is an example.

Same confusion. Given all the discussion about installing this thing right, it's annoying to have to make a second trip to the store after having to come home and search this forum for the answer above.
