The diameter of PVC pipes can usually reach up to 1200mm. As we all know, pvc pipes have good resistance to external pressure and have a certain degree of flexibility. It is the preferred pipe for construction drainage and residential drainage. With the continuous breakthrough of upvc diameter, it is gradually used in utilities projects such as rainwater drainage systems, sewage treatment systems, rainwater and sewage diversion systems, etc. However, due to the limitation of the maximum diameter of 1200mm, many large projects still choose double-wall corrugated pipes, steel pipes or cast iron pipes.
In June 2024, the world's first dn2000mm ultra-large diameter pvc pipe equipment successfully produced the first dn1600mm upvc pipe. This also means that large-diameter pvc pipes can be used in hydraulic and municipal drainage.
Why is it more suitable for promotion and application? Compared with ductile iron pipes, PCCP, or cement pipes, which have a service life of about 20 years due to corrosion damage, the service life of UPVC pipes can reach 100 years. At the same time, it has the advantages of good connection sealing, no leakage, high construction efficiency, short cycle, excellent cost performance, low cost, environmental protection and no pollution. Because UPVC pipes do not use any composite structure, they have stable performance and low damage rate, and are more suitable for large-diameter drainage in utilities projects.
