Duct System Losses

I am looking at the Pentz EF5, and the specifics show 2.5" of static pressure? How could this be? Maybe this is the losses? What type of Static pressure would there be with 6" ducting 5' from the inlet?

Looking at this chart, you can see you will lose the 2" almost immediately, just even the entry, not to mention the host. Can someone clarify the Static pressure of 2.5 as rated by the EF5. I must be missing something, as a system with a 5HP blower and 16" impeller must generate more than 2.5" static pressure. http://billpentz.com/woodworking/cyclone/dc_basics.cfm

That would be the cyclone flowing unrestricted. As you reduce the flow the static pressure will rise. When there is no flow the static pressure will be up around the 15"/16". What is really needed is a fan curve chart that would tell you what the flows and static pressures would be at any given condition. CV used to provide them but stopped some time ago. Attached is an old one for the CV-1800 and CV-Max. The EF5 should be similar.
