I built the enclosure for my compressor this weekend; it's 2x4 framing with pink insulation and Homasote (this time on the outside, the "quiet" side). It works!
So far it's just freestanding, and I think I'm going to leave it that way. It's easier to get the comp in and out. It's 4-sided (5 counting the top ).
Next steps are to reroute the drain so I can get to it through the opening at the bottom of the door, and to plumb the air to the garage.
I'm encouraged by the result; I know what to do now if the shed isn't enough to quiet the cyclone. I've got plenty more Homasote left over .
