SketchUp of Clear Vue 1800

I'm planning a shop upgrade for some point in the future and hope to include a Clear Vue Cyclone. I drew up a SketchUp version of the cyclone for layout purposes based the CV 1800 shown at drawings and specifications.

Cyclone1 (600 x 434).jpg

If anyone here is fluent in SketchUp and actually has a Clear Vue of their own, I'd be happy to send them a file so that they can check it against an actual machine to ensure it is accurate.

After it has been checked, I can post it in Google's 3D warehouse (link) so anyone could use it to help design their shop. Of course if the Morganos would prefer I did not, I will not post it in a public place like that.

Thanks, John Schreiber

Not fluent in Sketchup, John, but I use DesignCAD a few times a year, and it usually takes me a bit to relearn how to ride that bicycle. If you have the Pro version of Sketchup, then you should be able to export the file to something I can read. IMSI's TurboCAD can read SKP files but their DesignCAD cannot. Though I haven't tried it as I tend to do my own drawings, its supposed to be able to read these formats: DWG, DXF, IGES, WMF, HPGL, and XYZ. If you can output to any of those formats, I'll have a look.

Most of my CV 1800 is still in boxes. Working on the CV 06 Mini at present.

The JPG looks reasonable, but with no measurements, tough to say for sure.

SchreiberBike, Nice job on that! I've used Sketchup before on very basic projects, but never got good enough to attempt the cyclone. If you want to send me the file, I can spend a few minutes checking the dimensions. Send me a private message, and I'll provide an email account.

John,
Great job. I don't have any problem with you posting that in a public place. If it will help fellow woodworkers with their planning it is a great resource.

Thanks for the feedback on my model here. I have posted the SketchUp model of a Clear Vue CV1800 in the Google 3D Warehouse. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=f81e9df304e7cb4868ce3cbd5765e9f6

If you are a SketchUp user, you can download the model for shop planning purposes and I think it also might be helpful in customizing your installation.

If you are not a SketchUp user, I recommend it. It is a lot of fun and for me a little addictive. Better than a video game. And it's free. It's available at: http://sketchup.google.com/product_suf.html .

Thank you, John Schreiber

I was asked for left handed version and I made some simplified versions too. Simplified versions are nice in shop planning where you don't need much detail, just the outside dimensions and appearance. It also keeps file size low for easier use.

Thanks much!

Thanks much!

I just wanted to pop in here and say thanks a bunch for your SketchUp model, SchreiberBike. I had mocked up a very rough model before I found yours in the Warehouse, and promptly tossed my crappy one. Then I find you here. Very nice!

My CV is supposed to arrive tomorrow, and I've built a SketchUp model of my garage shop to help me plan the ducting and all. Perhaps I'll post it here when I have it more worked out.

cheers,
-david

John, I realize this is a very old link but the links for the download no longer work. Can you please post the download for the model here or send it to me?

Never mind, the SketchUp Warehouse changed a bit but I think I found what I needed. I was looking for a scale model of a unit with a 16" impeller.
