Can this cyclone be used or modified to be used to separate media in a blast cabinet? I need to get rid of all the dust, but not all the media, which needs to be recycled. Would I need a trash can type of separator before the cyclone? What do you think? John Van Oostenbrugge Lethbridge Alberta Canada

John,
I believe Bill Pentz answered this question in an e-mail to you. If you have any further questions please let me know. You can either post them here or e-mail me direct at ed@clearvuecyclones.com

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply, I've been real busy lately, haven't had time to check this. If Bill Pentz replied to me, I must have missed it, possibly thought it was spam. I never noticed any replies anyway. John V.O.

John,
I'll see if I can find a copy of his e-mail.....that could take me a while....and I'll forward it to you.

Jon,
I couldn't find Bill's e-mail, but I'll try to answer. The cyclone will work fine as-is for separating the dust. I'm assuming you have a regular Blast cabinet that has a suction pickup up at the top of the cabinet. The heavy media will fall to the bottom where it will be recirculated and the dust will be sucked out at the top of the cabinet. The cyclone will get about 99% of the dust and drop it into a trash can at the bottom of the cyclone. The remaining dust will be caught by the after filters. You wouldn't need any separator before the cyclone. I believe it would do the whole job for you. I hope this helps answer your questions
