intake chute under motor mount- possible ?

for me it would be ideal if i could install the cv1800 so that the intake chute goes through the same wall the mounting bracket is on. there would be an insulated gland for the duct. the unit would be installed so that the motor mount/filter is long ways flush on the wall

any ideas ? i am leery of using say heavy duty slides that would allow the whole unit to slide to the wall and connect to the ducting in the room adjacent. with slides the unit could be locked down and yet also slide out for servicing

i have not been able to find how long the intake chute is past the motor mount. can some one let me know how long the chute would penetrate the wall based on a 3/4" plywood proud wall plate
