I am looking at picking up a used 3 HP, 2 bag, 2 filter IMC dust collector. It has no bags, filters or straps, just the motor, impeller, stand, and places to attach the bags and filters.
The guy that has it will let it go cheap. But here's the issue - it's to big for my little garage shop. I want to know if it would make sense to buy this thing, and modify it to take only 1 bag and 1 filter. I would basically be cutting it in half.
Is this a stupid idea? Will I blow something up? Any ideas would be appreciated!
