Making my own system

hi,

I am novice on this dust filtration but this site and Bills was a great help. I was looking at the sketch on this site and I would like to tray and build one myself with sheet metal (since I have that in abundance at my work). Will this work as well and is it ok to do so or would that be infringing on your design?

My next question is the cyclone part is mad of a cone joined to a cylinder for a total of 50.75" what is the measurement of the cone section and the cylinder respectively if the two were seperated?

Thanks

Boxer,
It is perfectly ok to build one of these units yourself out of sheet metal. As a matter of fact, Bill has the plans on his site to do so. He also has a downloadable spread sheet with the layout of all the pieces that it takes to build one. That's how my son (Matt) and I got started. We built our own. Good luck and if you need any help, that's what we are here for.

Thanks Ed, you guys are a true assest to woodworkers. I'll browse through Bill's site again until I find the plans you are talking about. Just for the record if I wanted to buy one that you guys made out of plastic, would you ship to Canada?

Yes,
There are some fees involved at your end, but the shipping is only slightly more.....maybe an extra 20.00 - 30.00 depending on where in canada.
