In designing a CVMax collection system, I wanted to put one drop for the bench grinder. Many online sources say this is extremely dangerous, as sparks or hot bits of metal can melt PVC ducting and/or ignite dust.
That being said, the metal dust from the bench grinder is harmful and it would be great to collect it somehow. Is there some way to design a spark arrestor at the inlet (to keep large hot chunks from entering the duct), or perhaps line the first 4-6' of the PVC duct with aluminum tape, so that there would not be so much danger from collecting from the bench grinder?
Any ideas are much appreciated
