Motor Rotation and Wiring

The assembly manual calls for clockwise rotation wiring on page 22:
.

Use the CW wiring diagram from the motor plate.
a. L1 connects to P1
b. L2 connects to (T4 & T8)
c. P3 & T1 & T5 –wire together
d. The ground wire (bare wire) goes to a green screw inside the motor connection box
Then in the Note at bottom of Page 23 it states:

"Once the motor is wired, the motor shaft and
impeller blade should be turning counter-clockwise
when viewing from below. (ie: looking up at the motor
and impeller from the floor)."
If I wire according to the CW instructions above is this correct? Seems like the instructions are contradictory but maybe the orientation used by Leeson diagram on the box are the opposite from Clearvue?

Thanks for your help. Chuck

Chuck,
I finally found the leeson wiring diagram and definition of rotation on the Leeson site. The correct catalog number is 120554 and the model number is P145K34DB. Electric Motor Warehouse installs a C-Face mount on the Leeson motor so that is what you receive. You are correct in that Leeson defines the rotation from the lead end whereas Clear Vue defines it from the shaft end. I'm surprised that the industry after all these years has not adopted a clear convention on motor rotation since most other actors are clear. Good luck on your install.

Motor Rotation and Wiring

Many thanks for the clarification, now I feel confident that I have it wired right when I power it up for the first time. Chuck
