Static ??

Just was wondering. Since the Clear vue is made of plastic, is there any problems due to static build up? That is if it has any build up at all?

Daniel,
The answer is I haven't had any problems with static buildup, static charge or sparking. The swirl in the cyclone makes about 3 turns from top to bottm That's less than 10' of length of contact. . It's in a small section of the cyclone and the contact area of material with plastic is small (about 2" wide) so you have less contact of the product with the plastic than in the pipe. This is probably why I haven't had any problem with static. Also, we live in SC which is a humid area. I can't say for all parts of the country.

I second Ed's comments. I've been using my cyclone for a month or so and have not had any problems with static charges. I used S&D for duct and vinyl flex hose to connect and static hasn't been an issue. Can't remember getting shocked at all. I was somewhat concerned, until reading Bill's info, about static charges in the PVC and cyclone. The dust is flying so fast through my 6" ducts and in such great volume that even having dust cling to the inside of the pipe is not a problem. FYI - posting photos of install tonight, hopefully.
