Trash Can Being Sucked Off Floor

My installation uses a 75 litre lightweight metal trash can. It is the Australian version, so it uses a VSD connected to a 3 kW (about 5 HP) motor.

When I start the cyclone, the suction lifts the trash can off the floor by about 20mm (3/4").

Is this normal, or should I be concerned? Apart from this issue, everything seems to work fine.

Sounds normal. It should settle down as the can starts to fill.

It might even work as a cheap dust level sensor, assuming that you always produce the same density of sawdust.
